Custom Build: The Pineapple Express
When it rains it pours around here I guess.. hehehe.. Mike is now working on 4 builds at the same time!! In addition to the prototype Mortal Sin, Matt's Custom, and the next War Plane tribute, today Mike started a classic strat style guitar for Dal.
This guitar will be an all natural finish, and built from some very exotic wood, including a neck made from the Koa that our own Chromewarrior sent to Mike! The body is alder and Tasmanian Blackwood that came from Dr Zed.
This guitar has been named "The Pineapple Express"

mike is playing with dons wood!man thats going to look cool tho, cant wait to see a neutral finish one. then could you do one that natural finish with only a candy on it. like blue or red? that would be sweet too!

The body is an alder chambered ICON model. The Tasmanian Blackwood was milled, split and will be the laminated top of the instrument.

Burned out many drill bit on that stuff. Really cool that you used it. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Ya, that stuff was quite aged. It isnt as bad on tooling as some of the other woods I work with. I still have enough Koa for 2 maybe 3 more necks. Love the little nail holes in some of thepieces. really ads some character. Keep your eyes open for Koa scraps. HEHEHE
