Here is what I have so far of my attempt at the Compu-sition DVD. Its been a few months since I bought the DVD and finally had the time to try to do it. So far I've got Bree in white and tomorrow I'll do the gas pump.... still racking my brain as to what to put around it....

This is being done with Wicked Paint and the MOJO.... some tip dry problems with the white but nothing I can't deal with.... I just wish my lighting was better or maybe my eyes, I have a hell of a time seeing where I'm spraying after some white gets on there.... LOL

Cliff

Update: Here are a few shots of a little more progress on the Compu-sition.... I know I've done things out of order and probably should be following along with the DVD.... but I LEARN better by making mistakes..... so this is where I'm at to date....Pictures aren't the best quality... I'll try some natural light tomorrow.... right now I've got to get to work.

Nice work so far!
A bit too much white on the nose compared to the rest. Needs more shadowing to stand out properly. Now it's not casting any shadows on the face. And you will need to put some shadowing on the breasts because she looks like she got an A cup, and we all know Miss Bree ain't got no A cup! LOL

Can't wait to see more!

Annie :)

Looking good, the masking is nice and crisp. Faces are the hardest, so when you master that, you got it made.

First off, congrats on taking the challenge. So many people just watch the dvd in this series and do not pull off the exercise. It isnt easy. Complex masking and back masking.

Bree looks like she needs more development with the darker tones to help with some of the shaping of her body. The white looked good but the flesh tone wiped out all of the work you did with the white.

Isn't that going to happen because of the paint?(wiping out the white) Aint the wicked opaque?

You can get transparant effectds with opaque just by the nature of application. Sure, if you apply the second color over the first to its full strength, you will wipe out the under painting. Bob,The entire class you sat through at ABU was taught with this concept. :)

yeah but we used a white panel with no white underpainting. I guess I just get a lil confused. Maybe a lil color theory would help.

No need for color theory here Bob :)
Mixing theory is what you are looking for: even if you work with opaque paint, you can make it transparent to a certain point. Reduce it as much as you can without having it spider on the surface and apply it gradually.

With basecoat I use transparent basecoat or intercoat clear to mix with my base color to make it more transparent. Maybe you have a product alike within the paint you are using.

Good luck!
