Have Ab'd my bike and used clear laquer from a rattle can. Found out the hard way that petrol eats laquer when I accidently spilt some on my tank.
Have now removed the run marks caused by petrol by rubbing down the laquer very carefully.
Are "Laquer" and "Clear" different things
Do I have to invest in a bigger compressor and use 2 part clear or is there a rattle can laquer I can use.

well there is clear lacquer and there is clear urethane, the clear lacquer is not as stable when it comes to chemical resistance and the urethane is
can you get it urethane's in spray cans.....yes but they are pretty spendy alsa has them called killer cans, you have to use it all in one job tho, once you break the seal and mix it up that's it, you got to use it and some times its goes off( hardens up) before you get the second or third coats of it on, so you best be gettin a few cans of it to be safe, you much better off biten the bullet now and gittin yer self a good gun and a compressor. :sweatdrop:

Shane hit the nail on the head, for about 5 or $ 600.00 you can get a decent gun and compressor, and the 2k clear is about $ 50.00 with the hardener.

You'll never get the results from a rattle can that you get from a good gun and compressor. You don't want to mess up all your hard work with a bad clear job.

The Alsa clear that Shane was talking about is packaged by Spray Max, who also makes a clear of their own. A can with an inner container with catyalist(sp) in it. In 70 or cooler weather they say to use before 24 hours. The finish is OK but nothing like what comes from a spray gun. Hope this helps
