This is my latest attempt with the airbrush, cheated slightly by using a shaving brush to get the fur effect. Spread shaving brush and sprayed through it then dragged to get the effect. all done with AA auto-bourn then 3 coats of AA blue candy just have to clearcoat if it ever stops raining.

Cheating? Nope, not in my opinion. Use the method that gives you the results you want. Great job. My only constructive criticism is that I would have continued the wolf off the edge, rather than stopping short. Good use of creative thinking to come up with your method of rendering the fur.

I think it looks more like one them Samoyed dogs. great job on the moon and it is well laid out, the trees could use some work i think, there's really no evenness to them the ones on one side of the picture don't look like the ones on the other side of the picture the fur looks cool as well tho, good job on that.:D

im kinda with jim on the wolf thing. Maybe soften the edge a little more and fade it out towards the bottom and maybe countiue the trees up through the moon alittle bit. it looks pretty good so far. Michael

I cant believe you would cheat like that. hahahaha. You know that we are not snobbish like some brush painters who say "oh no I could not use an airbrush it is cheating" well we use whatever means we can use to get the effect we need. shhh (we even use computers and plotters.)

Oh you cheater.... LOL
Great job! I use that trick too from time to time. And it's not as easy to do as it looks. You pulled it off really nicely. You managed to keep the lenght of each brush hairs different enough to not create any hard lines and make the pattern random so it's not looking like hte same patch of hair repeating itself over and over.
Great job and... no...it's not cheating!!!

Good work on using more than one tool when working on this project. I only have one creative criticism I would have brought two of the trees into the moon so that it pushed the moon back some and given a more distant look.

Thanks to everyone for their great feedback it really helps having constructive criticism to help improve. I agree with the trees needing to push the moon back and tried that at first but kept getting a muddy mess where they overlapped, the colour would be more brown than it was elswhere so tried adding a little green to no effect then tried with a black/purple and it still looked odd, so just redid the moon hence the black halo around the slightly smaller than original moon. it maybe the mixing of the AA and Auto-Bournt as I only purchased the Black and White in the Auto-Bourne, but have to say they seem to spray a lot better than the AA transparents with less tip dry and greater reduction possible.........sorry for the rambling essay and thanks to everyone on the forum for all the great help and advice
