ok...here's what I'm working on...inspired by Mikes dragons he painted on the mojo cam recently....It's gonna be a dragon with some babbies/eggs.
the back of the shirt will be a view of the dragons back with its head going over the right shoulder.
The right wing is across the lower back across the front. The left wing will be over the left shoulder across the front with a segment of the wing going down the shirt sleeve.
I have the front and back sketches finished (the front setch is shown...I forgot to take pics of the back sketch).
I am gonna paint this on a black sweatshirt. The shirt isnt prepped yet so I decided to paint it onto a white tee for a quick freehand practice session. Although the version on the black tee will be way different from the white tee(I wanna do it like Mike did his), I'm not too happy with the main dragon's head so I've added a sketch of a different one...I may do a couple more sketches before I decide what I want it to look like....then the babbies will have to have those changes too.
undecided on that issus still...I dont want to take too much time deciding??????? any ideas are welcome.

Okay, hopefully I can post more as the day goes by here, but for now, a very personal painting.

Oil on canvas. It will eventually be Nokomis on the back of Turtle with all the animals, creating the Earth. It's an old origin myth of the Ojibwe. Only the muskrat is able to bring Nokomis the muck from the bottom of the sea to create the soil of the dry lands where all the animals & plants will live. The little muskrat will be just a few inches from the bottom of the painting on his way back up.

Here's one version of the story.

Today I'm working up on a harley fender for a customer who has installed a narrow front end on His harley. The end result will be a match to Pearl white with silver flame graphic to match the rest of the bike.

He brought me a new fender so I started from the foundation up by sanding throughlly and using a etch primer for any bare metal spots and going to a 2k primer next.

I applied two rounds of 2k with blocking out each time and using 500 grit to wet sand before base coat.

To match the rest of the bike it will get a tri coat finsh starting with a white base coat, then applying some ice pearl before first top coat of a high solid clear. After wet sanding with some 1000 grit I'll be ready for my graphics. While the part is curing for tommorrow I'll design and cut my graphic on my plotter and use some avery paint mask for the art work.

Since the fender is smaller than the old one I look at the style of the flames and try my best to design them similar but more uniform to the size of the new fender.

I'll apply the vinyl and tape off the rest of the fender to protect it from over spray. Then spray the silver and use the airbrush to fade in the reduced black around the licks to match the rest of the bike graphics.

I'll let it sit for a hour or so then use some Matrix color blender clear base coat before top coat. Next I'll wet sand again and go one more round of high solid clear and I'm done. If I have a few nibs I'll just lightly wet sand and buff the part.

Thanks,...Steven

Hello,

This is my eagle I'm painting for my brother on his flight helmet visor. His visor is split down the middle with a slide adjuster so I had to split my eagle in two. I wanted to test my colors so I painted half of the eagle on illistration board. I'm excited because this is my own creation and my first project.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Clear coated it, but need to sand it all smooth and make it shiny yet. Helmet for my grandson. The art on here is amazing. I hope some day, that I too will be able to airbrush like some of you in here. Keep posting your projects, it's inspiring to us newbies.

The top of the helmet pic didn't turn out so good. It's a treasure map with our state on it, with a dot where my Grandson lives and a dotted line going from his house, to an X where Grandpa and Grandma live.
