A few months ago I ordered a Peak C-5 which I have used several times and am very happy with. After spraying, I always clean and lube my guns. Today I broke it down a step further and removed the nozzle to clean it because i noticed the gun trailing a bit. I used the tiny wrench supplied with the gun and it came out with no problem, and then I saw it. The nozzle was almost split in half in the threads. A thread went completely through the side wall of the nozzle, I imagine during the machining process due to how thin the part is. Anyway, I proceeded to clean the gun and very carefully started to screw the nozzle back in when it broke off with half the threads inside the gun body. So I came to your store where I had originally purchased the C-5, but can no longer find anything but Mojo/Moflo parts (both of which I hope to wield some day). My only option is Bear Air, where this part is $15 + 12.06 s/h. My only issue here is that this is clearly a defective part and should never have been in the gun. I have never dropped my brushes, and they are very well maintained and cared for. Is there anything we can do about this? I'm not trying to avoid replacing a part. I have replaced many parts over time on other guns, its just the way it is. I just know this situation could have been avoided and I'm sure was just overlooked during manufacturing. I greatly appreciate any help and info you can give me with this. Happy Holidays.

I have an Airbrush student that had something happen to his gun. We sent it to Bear Air and they fixed is, cleaned it and sent it back to us in new condition for $10. It was an awesome deal. The $10 is just to cover shipping it back. When they take it apart to clean it, they will replace any piece that is showing signs of wear. I hope this helps. Take care.

Actually I had a horrible experience with BearAir over this. I sent it in with the postage back paid, and didnt hear a thing in over 3 weeks. I even printed out ALL my contact info and put it in the box. So finally I called and they said they had a brush sitting in their shop with no name on it and they didnt know whos it was. Excuse me?!?!? So anyway, I said just fix it and send it back, so I get it back about a week later and what do I find when I open the box and inspect it . . . . . . . . A CRACKED NOZZLE! I called up Steve and explained what I had found. He said that I am obviously not being careful enough with my brushes. WTF?!?! I DIDN'T EVEN USE IT AFTER I GOT IT BACK! So he said that I can send it back PLUS SHIPPING and they will "fix it again". I debated for a few days on throwing away the Peak for an HP-C+ where parts are more accessable, and decided to just send it in and at the least will end up with a back-up brush. I got my brush back within a decent time, with paint spatter on it. Now I know, they're going to test it and that's fine. But after all this? At least send me a clean brush back, thats how I sent it to them. Anyway, I'm not spiteful. I just chalk it up to a lesson learned. Now I HAVE to go to BearAir for any Peak parts, and thats why my C-5 is sitting the bench. Only called out when it's absolutley necessary.

br,
I do all the repairs for BearAir and I will personally guarantee that a broken nozzle was not installed in your airbrush.
I will also guarantee that if you get that brush to me asap, I will return it to you in perfect order assuming there i no excessive wear and tear (which it sounds like there is not)
Your brush would not have worked properly at all if the nozzle was defective in that way. A split in the threads pushes the cone of the nozzle forward, blocking the nozzle cap and blowing air back into the cup.
Again, give me the opportunity to take care of your brush and make it right. There will be no charge for this repair at all.
Send it to my attention directly.

Steve. I already had it serviced. It was properly fixed and sent to me the second time. I apologize if I sounded upset at all in my post, I'm not. It was just very frustrating at the time it all happened because I debated for a few days on whether to buy the Peak or an Iwata. I am happy with my C-5 and its performance, very happy. At the time I was a huge proponent of BearAir and can say I have personally directed a handful of new artists to BearAir. I just felt I was given the shaft at this particular junction and felt I was talked to as though I didn't know how to maintain my brushes. I have no bitter feelings toward you or your company. It is water under the bridge. I do appreciate your service and feel maybe this was an isolated incident and just one of those unfortunate things that sometimes happen. I have not since done business with BeaAir but I realize I do have a Peak and will inevitably returning to your BearAir at some point in time. It has been quite some time, but I do appreciate you addressing this.
