I have noticed that a few fellow airbrushers have used something to form guidlines to follow before airbrushing. What is used to make these marks? What will NOT bleed through and/ or cause problems while painting? Thanks guys...

I like chalk. I get it at wal mart or wherever, and sharpen it. But you can order the stabillo pencils and they are just a bit harder to remove.

I use stabilo early in the layout phase, then wipe it out with degreaser after i have it sketched in with the airbrush.

I have found pastel pencils. They are the greatest! A piece of chalk is hard to draw with if you have to be precise but its the best if you don't want to leave marks behind. So look in the pastel department of your art supply store and you can use any colors you need. Instead of pastel sticks, they are pastel pencils. This way, you can use white on darker backgrounds and grey or black on lighter ones.
There is also this one at Dick Blicks...I think Shane gave me that link in the chat room.

I hope this helps!

What kind of degreaser do you use?

I like chalk to. I get the crayola brand soft and marks easy with no pressure and blows away easy. The roseart brand has a different feel to it kind of waxy and it doesn't mark as easy.

i use the chalk stabilo's and i get them from the local art store, the place Annie put is a awesome place to get them, one word of caution, don't drop them, the chalk inside gets all busted up :hockey:
