I have done it easily just using blue fine line tape. Just lay down a strip of black, where you want the wire to be then, intertwine two pieces of tape, all around the truck. Paint the rest of your colors then pull your tape add some highlights with white, and add freehand dagger strokes for barbs. And then you can wash with some different candies, depending on the look you want,. I will try to find my pics of the bike I did it on.

Barb wire is the first thing I airbrushed! I took pics of the steps I did. I taped my wire with blue tape, untaped and shadowed the wire (if you're not sure you can freehandly airbrush the shadow, simply put a tape back on your wire, and remember less is more...don't over do the shadow!). then I taped a second wire and shadowed after untaping. (To tape the wires, I use a fine line tape for placing the wire. Then I tape side by side of the tape and peel off the first tape to paint. This way you are absolutely sure you tape the same width for start to finish). I shadowed the second wire in a way to make belive it goes over and under the first wire. I drew little barb wires on frisket and cut them with a knife. Transparent frisket alowed me to see precisely where I need to place the stencils. Now I would do it freehand (the little barbs) but if you're not sure, just cut a little stencil.
If you have any other questions, let me know!

Thank you!
I do a lot more elaborate stuff now.
That was the first bike I did when I was in collision repair school.
I was so scared...hahaha
Thanks for the compliment!

i do it like Annie and Ryan do man, if you need a long mask to do it ask a sing shop to cut off for you, most of the ones around here will do it for a small fee, or one of the members here can do it if you don't have any luck finding one in your area, let me no! :bigok:
