Hi Guys and Gals!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on the big move. As most of you know we are completing our relocation to Colorado. We have run into a few snags over the past week as Mike, Micah and myself all got the flu right after Christmas. As if that did not slow us down enough, the current weather conditions have put us back 2 more days. We are getting ready to take off here in a few hours. Not sure what the roads will have in store for us, but we have to try! hahah.

Thank you all for your continued support and patience. We expect to be back at it 150% within the next week.
Have a SAFE and HAPPY New Year!!

Well... we are very happy to report. . . we have made it safely to the new property. Not without adventure, but here safe and sound....

Though many of the routes were closed, we decided to head out on Sunday morning just to see how far we could get. By mid day, roads to Santa Fe were open. We had a pretty uneventful trip until Albequerque where the weather became pretty hairy with thick fog, high winds and snow. We stopped at a Truck Stop that was as busy as the Las Vegas strip... there was barely a place to park between all the trucks that were unable to make the trip south to Texas due to interstate closures. We heard the road to Raton was open, so we decided to spend New Year's Eve driving .... Santa Fe was not well plowed and the roads were icy, but we were the only people on the road so we kept on. We made it to Raton at Midnight. Most of the hotels were packed so we ended up in a shithole that had parking room for the truck. We left out early this morning over the Raton pass... the roads were icy, single lane and pretty scary. They were, however, open. Southbound traffic had it WAY worse than us... they were just getting plowed and the line of traffic was moving very slow and was miles long. By Pueblo, CO, the roads had cleared up and the sun was out when we hit Colorado Springs. All went well til we go to the house. Another foot of snow had fallen and we were unable to get the truck in either of the driveways. Luckily the neighbors and my brother saw us and we all got the driveway cleared. Mike BAJA'd the General Vee down the icy and snow packed drive to the shop. That was a sight!

We decided to take the evening off. It is our anniversary. We just got back from dinner and getting some supplies. We are going to start a fire and watch a movie or something... The unloading starts in the morning... Just wanted to check in.

:)

Wow! you guys know how to put adventure into the new year. Happy Anniversary and Happy New Year!!! Looks like this year is going to be another interesting year in the lives of the Learns. Hey that sounds like a name of a new reality show. The only problem with that is your not disfunctional or attention getting freaks. But as you know with lifes big changes come interesting stories. Well I just wanted to wish your family the best of luck. Remember to take your time and do it right the first time. You know that haste only brings waste.

Thank you all for the positive vibes. It was a risky drive. We made it safely under the power of the all mighty. It was an adventure. But as the adventure continues, we will share the experiences of our trip with you. It will be a blast. I am so excited to see our daughter enjoy the change of seasons and really have a chance at doing some out door activities in the summer. In PHX...Summer is tough to get outside and do anything. It broke my heart when she would be home for the summer and couldnt enjoy the outdoors. It will be different this year... Mountain biking....Snowboarding...sled riding....hiking....off roading.... Things i grew up all so famiiar with. Stay tuned.
