I have been using an iwata and was thinking of either going with a mojo or a CM-C+. I really like the pressure control on the iwatas and from what I have seen, the mojo doesnt have this...?

I think this is pretty important to have at least on an airbrush for me. That is the one thing that makes me lean towards the c+ more.

Exactly how is the mojo better? They have almost the same specs besides tthe pressure "valve"..? And please dont say "It just feels better" etc because that really isnt very descriptive and isnt proving anything :).

If anyone thinks they can describe why the mojo is better, well enough to convince me to buy it instead of a CM+, I am still trying to decide.....

The mojo is capable of finer lines..? How?

Well i don't own a Micron C+ but i was looking to buy one.In fact i was gonna buy EdKrup's ,he was gonna sell me.I was looking for a fine detail brush and wanted the best i could get. i didn't buy Ed's cause
i didn't have the cash and I eventually joined this site and herd all the
talk of the Mojo's and how good they were.
I wanted the best and i'm very satisified
with my MoJo when i got it.I know Ed bought a Mojo and switched from his
Micron C+,maybe he can tell you better. The mac valve is cool but
its only to adjust pressure and i have a regulater at the end of my hose
so i can deal without the mac valve I have a 6 way manifold and the regulator
plugs into the coupler and i keep it high& close to my reach so its no big deal
to reach over to adjust the pressure.I know Mike changes the needle to a
.2 needle and polishes it.It does the finest hairlines i have ever seen
but like i said i never had a CMC+.
I went with what was said to be the best by many people who have one and i'm gonna buy more 1st chance i get.
Maybe Edkrup can chime in and explain the difference and why he switched
to a RichPen MOJO.

If air pressure control is very important to you, it can be added to any airbrush, including a MOJO with the new SAC from Bear Air. Here is the info:

As for more info about the MOJO, check out the Revies Section:

Or, I am sure more MOJO owners will post here.

Smasher, I have a CMC+ and a HPCH with the air valve, which almost always stays in the full open position. The miron is almost to tight. Good for very fine detail but is probably more fitting for illustration work with very thin paints. The HP has been bumped to the secondary brush. The Mojo is so versatile. Great detail and if you need more coverage it's got it, no dry spray. What I've found is the Mojo (with the proper reduction) just will not tip dry or spit paint. The mods make it a pleasure to use. Trigger is smoooooth. I want to get another so I can dedicate one for white only. From what I see from my Iwatas, add in the better price and it's an easy choice. The hole Richpen line is great. I won a 113c from this site. I thought, free brush, whatever. But it sprays as well as the HP and it's a $100 dollar gun. Don't get me wrong, Iwatas are great brushes. And some will say it's ultamitly the skill of the one using it. But I feel more confident when I've got the Mojo in my hand. And Smasher, it just feels better.
Tell ya what, if you don't like the Mojo, I'll buy it from you. Just don't drop it.

Here's my take.

For me detail lies in an airbrushes ability to deliver the perfect line on demand every time WITHOUT skipping. I can pull lines as fine with my Grex but not consistently.
I think Microns are fussy. The paint has to be just right or your lines will look like little dots. Auto Uros are not illustration paints. I find the Mojo is very forgiving as to what you put in the top and the results coming out the business end are the same. I spray Uros and the new ETAC acrylics with it.

Parts. Compare prices on needles, tips, etc. OUCH!

And finally.... the feel of the Mojo!

As Jeff said, I used Iwatas all the time, I have a CMC+ that sits on the shelf and I sold my Micron B.
The MoJo is smother and more consistant day after day. They're not as tempermental as a Micron. The "Feel Right" thing comes from Mikes customizing, he smothes the trigger, changes the needle and nozzle to a .2 mm, than polishes the needle. It's smooth as silk. The flow is unreal. The airbrush it self won't make you a better artist, but it will give you more confidence. When you pull back on the trigger the paint is there, no guessing. It takes the worry out of close work. As Hoodlun said, the MAC valve stayed wide open all the time, I never used it.
I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to spend less time tearing down the brush for a good cleaning and lube like I did with the Microns.
I own 2 and I'm glad I got them. Would I buy another, you bet your ass.

Well said Ed, i knew you where the person to ask being as you used to use
the CMC+. I'm sometimes amazed what the MOJO will do and it will do
color fill as well as the finest detail.I didn't know that the CMC+ couldn't
do any background work without dry spray.Glad i bought the MOJO.
i know Ed wasn't trying to sell me a bum AB cause i mentioned i was looking
to buy a CMC+ to someone and they hooked me up with Ed.
I didn't have the money and Ed said he wasn't in a rush so it would
most likely be there when i had the cash.I joined this site shortly after
that and heard all the hype of the MOJO's.then i noticed Ed had one
and thought well if he had one and bought a MOJO and was willing to
sell an almost new airbrush, the MOJO had to be better cause he aint
using the mircron. Figured i wanted the best and with the job i had
i pinched off the money and bought it and darn if aint what everybody
said it was.I will be buying more and a MOFLO also for those bigger jobs
such as graphics on cars.
So forget the rest and buy the best ,MOJO and MOFLO all the way.
