I'm having a minor problem with the podcasts.

My version of Quicktime didn't identify the compresspr for the movies, so they only play the sound.

When I looked at the sneak preview movs for Compu-sition #1 etc they played fine, so I probably just have to hand load the compression file for QT for the podcast, or maybe just update QT to something newer.

Thanks in advance!

Bob Mc

PS: I just got my package a day ago from Bear Air with your stencil set, and a Peak C-5...Its an upgrade from Aztek ... can't wait to play with it this weekend!!...and the stencils set, and free How-To on this site...Wow!!!...

Got a hard hat for work I just have Got to spruce up :) !!!

In had to uninstall and reinstall QT and the Itunes player, which I didn't have installed beforeI thuinnk the latter may have been the problem.
It kept telling me it was missing software that wasn't on the update site.
Works fine now.

Thanks!!!

That's exactly what i was getting.

My quicktime was last installed by my digital camera.

Uninstalled. When to Apple website, and got the install with iTunes.
Installed and "yes" to all my security alarms (probably running way to many spyware porgrams :) )

Rebooted, and all is well with the world! Working fine!

Now back to watch the goodies!!!

Thanks again!

I don't mind QT.I just run msconfig and turn off all the stuff that starts at boot time.
Go to run, type msconfig.Choose selective startup,go to startup and turn off all the stuff you don't want to run when you you turn you computer on.
It will speed up you boot time and save some system resources.

If you look under command, read the that line.It will usually give you a good idea of what the program is.
If it looks like something you don't need at startup, uncheck the box in front of it.
You can turn off pretty much everything in there will no adverse affects on you system.

Did you check the box that say "don't show this message again" or something to that affect?
Check that box and it will only show that message when you change something.

I have tried every suggestion on this page. My computer won't let me uninstall Quicktime becasue it says that a program is using it. I don't know where to go from here. I'm not a computer genius.

Every time I try to uninstall Quicktime to try reinstalling it, it gives me a message that says something like:

A program is currently using Quicktime or one of its components. Make sure to exit all Windows progams before continuing.

I can't figure out what else I need to close or exit. My web browser isn't on and I'm not signed into anything. I've tried restarting my computer then try to delete the program and get the exact same message.

I wonder if you could close it in windows task manager.

I get to mine by hitting ctrl+alt+del once and selecting the task manager button.

There should then be 3 tabs... applications, processes, and performance. If you click applications it should show you all currently running applications... hopefully Quicktime should be listed... you should then be able to select it and 'end task' it.

That's the way I would approach your problem first... if not, one of the computer savvy folks should have an idea or two.

Thanx Bob,

I closed some programs in Task manager and reinstalled the program and all the videos work now. Now if I could just figure out how to compress these files so I can post some pics.

powder man, do you have photo shop, if you do all you have to do is under the file menu hit"save to web" then when the next window opens up hit "image size" its over on the far left side of the page,(I believe its the center file tab) then when that opens up make the size around 800 X800 pixels then hit apply it then will be smaller but your not done yet, then hit "save as" its on the same page up at the top over the image size thingy! :bigok:
