View Full Version : I miss the old main page :(

I have a request for the new forum but I don't know if it's possible. So I'm throwing the idea out just in case :D
With the new format, I am missing SO many posts and threads. What happens is that sometimes I have a couple minutes to log on...I have time to check one post but I see so many new threads or post. When I come back (if I had to leave) they are all gone.
On the old main page, they were all appearing in the order they were posted. If I had log on earlier for a minute, the post I didn't have time to view were not in bold character anymore but they were still there in the right order.
I feel so lost since that page is gone :( Please make it like home again!!! :)

Is it possible maybe to configure the "Whats new" section be be based on time, say threads with posts submitted within the last "X" days/hours instead of the most recent posts you haven't seen (which it seems to be what it is now)?
Just a thoughts and another "Thanks" to Di for all the hard work!

I was just thinking the same thing. Even the main page eye candy is gone.

For a quick fix to the problem, this is what I've done.
-Go to the "what's new tab"
-Once the page is loaded, click on "mark forums read"
-Once loaded, click on "what's new" again
-Then a message will come up that says
"Sorry, there are no new posts to view.
You may search for posts updated during the previous 24 hours, here"
-Right click on the here link, and click bookmark link
This will take you to the most previous posts for the past 24 hours
Hope this helps

I know John....thanks, but it's a lot of hassle instead of having it there. When you do that, and click a post, then you have to start all over again and most of the time, I just don't have the time!!! lol

Definately a few more mouse clicks than the Old School website.
I worry that there are only so many clicks in my finger before it blows out.
Thanks for looking into it Di.
