View Full Version : 4-15-10. Page 6 - Type O Blues.
Those who know of Type O Negative have probably heard that Peter Steele died yesterday. Sad day for those who've enjoyed his music... Heavy, low, sloooow, dark, doom and gloom: and absolutely perfect when in the mood. Rest in Rust, Mr. Steele... and thank you.
Another topic of discussion that has dominated the news and several discussions around our house has been the abhorrent behavior of the catholic church. It is a pretty heated subject and stirred a few emotions/questions in me. And possibly inspired what could be my most controversial and political concept design for a painting yet. It's still being fleshed out - but it's an idea that has been in my head for a while now and is all but screaming to get out. (among others; it's one that'll probably piss off my parents too.)
Business as usual on the other fronts. I was able to prep/grind/kandy another batch of panels and all but finish some of the last set. I've also included an old patio table that I had found discarded by the neighbors. It's a bit of a quirky project that raised some eyebrows when carting it in to the shop. But now that it is ready for design work - I'm actually really excited about painting it. And it should be good to have for the upcoming shows. (Got a great deal on a snowboard too. Apparently it is a woman’s board and I think I'll design it accordingly.)
That's about it for me. Lots of things going on in the next week, though, so it should be interesting... And I'll be sure to bore you all about it!!! Hehehe
How are you? What have you been up to???

Rod, you are the man. Love the horse and the bagger, and intrigued by what you have planned for the table.
Been a hellish week for me. Without going into too much detail, I really need to make some money in a hurry. My credit card company is threatening to sue me due to lack of payment on my accounts. I signed up with a debt settlement firm and have gotten no help. Thank you Marge for turning me onto ETSY.com. I'm hopeful I can move some of my original paintings. I may try to post the whole lot again on here and see if anyone is able to buy any of them now.
I started my teaching stint a few weeks ago and continue to go to the school 1 or 2 days a week. This year we are working on murals. The class was divided up into 4 small groups each being responsible for their own mural. it will be interesting to see how these pan out.
I'm near completing a simple mural at a local salon. I have picts posted on my FaceBook page. I also have a toybox in house that i'm working on a design for, a logo design and an original painting that may have been sold already.
Thanks for letting me rant a bit. What's up with you?

Peter Sang it best . . . Everything Dies
If you've never heard any Type O a great tune to get you into them was a cover with Ozzy of Matchstick men from the Stern Private Parts Album, great great cover. Peter will be missed.
In very exiting news, I've been invited to a gunfight! A good friend of mine was threatened by a local gang for some gunplay and bloodshed at 3 p.m. today. Being that he knows I've been a few and I'm never one to shy away from gunplay he asked for my help. I'm so in! I wish I had my 45, all I have with me is my 380. She'll do the work though. I'm so exited, I haven't trown down since like '98. Hopefully I'll talk ta ya's later. Wish me luck!
Shit sorry, awesome horse Rod. Sorry I'm very on edge. c-ya

Sad sad news.......
Wow, I really love Type o negative, and own just about every album except the earlier Carnivore stuff. I'm sad, he was cool in his own weird, dark way, just listen to a song like I like goils and laugh your ass off at his twisted sense of humor, my personal fav albums being October Rust and World Coming down.
RIP Dude!!:You_Rock_
I have never heard of Type O but I like that tune...I may have to pick some up...I could see it being good paint music....I like odd stuff when I paint like The D (Tenacious), Tool, Primus, The Presidents...this could fit. I heard the guy died of heart failure, somewhat uncommon at his age but who knows....
I found out last Wednesday that an old boyfriend (was a serious one for a while) passed away on Easter Sunday. Massive heart attack...not surprising to me. He never took good care of himself and used to smoke like a chimney...we were an odd pairing...he made me laugh and he had a good heart...woulda married him once but things change and people grow..I grew in another direction and outgrew him...my dreams were different...he always asked about me for years when he would run into my parents... I called his sister and let her know how sorry I was...I hope he went peacefully and without much pain...
Gearing up for the summer!!! Got the yard cleaned, plants have been divided and transplanted, birdhouses hung, veggie garden will be planted soon....mowed the grass yesterday and played outside ALL day! Felt sooooo good!!! Planning to partake in a couple art fairs this summer.
Trying to decide which weekend to have the BrushBash 2010 this year....if anyone has any dates in mind, lemme know...dates it WON"T happen will be July 31st and August 21st weekends. Got plans...
Same dealio as last year but going to have folks bring own beer/spirits cuz I am STILL drinking beer that was left over...bring what you will drink and those who choose to drink muchly have to camp over....
Thats a wrap for me...glad warmer weather is here!!!

Well a little update on my 3 p.m. showdown yesterday. A lot of tough talk but no takers. Even when I passed off my hardware no one wanted even a go with the hands. I guess that's why people join gangs, their just not good solo artists. Just wanted to clarify something, I'm not Charlie Bronson out there, my friend is a hard working dude with two kids at home and these f'n punks started this mess with him. I can't leave my friend to stand out there alone unarmed for these ass clowns. Just couldn't do that.

Day late, but here goes. I have been busy with work around the house and some basic repair work. We had a windstorm take off about 60 feet of fencing. So out comes the post hole digger and a bunch of fencing at the end of last week, through the beginning of this week. After that, Diana and I continued with some more work around the house after business obligations and such. I started the deck off of the master bedroom. Hopefully getting it done this weekend if weather permits.
I traded a guy a bunch of old harley parts for a 69 Bug. A friend and I put a tranny in it the last few eves, have to pull the motor back out of it today due to having the wrong throw out bearing/ pressure plate combo in it. Weeeeee.
Awaiting a few custom jobs to arrive this week coming up. Been spraying a lot of straight color matching stuff for guys. Artwork has been slow.
I never really got the entire Type O thing, but dug the music. I always found listening to Peter's voice like listening to Lurch trying to be in a rock band. If drugs were involved, we prob wont find out. There is alot of that these days. Peeps need to get smarter.
