Hello All,
I am considering buying a Richpen airbrush for detail work. I am looking at the 212b and the 213c. I would like to know if anyone has used these models and can give me input on the difference between the two.
I already have a couple brushes for day to day use and I am looking for strickly a detail brush. Thank you in advance for your help...

Check out the Learn Airbrush store.
Mike customizes a Richpen Phoenix into a Mojo super AB.
Every one on the site who bought one is very happy.
It is as good or better than an Iwata Micron C+
I can't be any happier with mine.

The 213b comes stock with the .2 tip ad needle and the 213c comes with .3 from the factory. the b model has a much smaller paint cup. The mojos we sell are hand tuned and odified with the .2 tip and needle. We polish the needles and tips and do some mods to the internals for smoother flow and immediate paint response for ultimate detail. Bear Air doesnt sell the Mojo brush. They supply us with the pices to make the odifications. The stock brushes are great too. The c model is very much like the HP-C. Performs great out of the box. But for Micron quality the Mojo does the job.

Hello,
Thanks for the input, if you replace parts in the brush, are replacement parts standard Richpen parts or are they only available from Mike?

I just got a mojo yesterday . . . haven't used it yet, but I did sleep with it under my pillow last night :naughty: I've had several iwatas and already dig the way the richpen feels just from holding it and whatnot compared to my hp-c and cs from the other guys.
I didn't know the mojo came with a .2 tip and needle. That is like getting floor mats standard with a new car. You guys Rawk!!!! :headbang:
cheers,

I have had my Mojo for only a week or two. I always , always, always had trouble with white paint and my micron c+. I sent it to Coast airbrush for a new teflon packing and a tune up, and the brush was almost new when I sent it out. I get it back and same deal spit, spit, splat. The mojo right out of the box not one time just AWESOME paint flow. If I did'nt have a million bucks in this almost new micron I would have gone for the trade in deal, but I'm for sure going to launch that hunk of s**t micron. Mojo is the ONLY way to go !!

Without getting too emotional, the Mojo is the sh&t! Guys are honest about the detail out of the box. Properly thinned, you'll be able to draw continous hairlines without breaking up. But it's also very forgiving. Other brushes will disappoint you after handling a Mojo.

Thats bullshit, I had 2 microns I sold one and kept one only because it was a gift.
Another plus is the Mojo atomizes the paint with less PSI. It definitely cuts down on blowouts.
I'm loving my Mojo.

What an absolute Crock of Sh*t !!!!:bsflag: :bsflag:
I'll spend whatever it takes to get the job done right and will equip myself with the best tools I can get my hands on. I've had a boatload of brushes and for detail the Mojo is the one I wish I would have bought before I spent the money on a Micron.
Hey...if anybody wants to spend $100+ more for the Micron....go for it. It ain't gettin' you a better brush.

i have read alot about micron c and c+, and have enough money for it, but i have heard recently alot about the mojo... I have a badger crescendo which i started AB with, but the detail is weak so i need a detail brush. Is mojo the way to go? over micron? i heard it come with a .2mm nozzle, but can u get bigger nozzles/needles for it? not that i would neccessarily want to. But looking at versatility. And tryin to decide what to get. Even though the mojo is cheaper and heard it runs smoother and better then micron. Im pretty sure i will get a mojo just wanna seal the deal..lol.. Also with the badger crescendo can i use that hose for the mojo or do i need a new hose? if so what kind do i get?

Hey Jr,
I will try to answer your questions with out sounding like an avertisement or put down anyone who uses iwata. It is my personal opinion that the MOJO cearly outperforms the micron, regardless of its price. You can get a larger tip and needle for it if you desire at some time. But I think you will find that wont be nessecary to have the range you are looking for.
I suggest that you read the reviews from others that have used the brush to decide. Anytime i mention it, it gets twisted into some evil marketing ploy. If you are anywhere near some of our users, maybe you can get a test run and try for your self.
Best wishes,
Mike

Hi, I have a micron, and 4 hp-c's none of which are working now. I find the nele bends too easily. I replaced the nedle and tip in the micron, it cost me $200 can. I am wondering what the cost of replaement parts are for the Mo-Jo. I posted my disapointment in the iwata's on another bard, and it got deleted, I was just comenting on how my 8 year old iwata was much better than the new ones i bought:shrug: . anyway, I need new brushes, and I am hinking it's time to try the richpen.
ps when answering, could yo uthink in canadian $'s please, I bought my first Iwata frm Bear air some 8 years ago, I loved it, and it lasted forever, in fact I still use it on occasion, but the ad said 99$ but after the duty plus shipping and taxes, it came to close to $300.

Hey Aircooled,
First off welcome. The costs of the replacement parts and tips can be found at Bear Air. I think it is 40 for a nozzle and 14 for a needle. I am not really sure. Maybe Steve will chime in and help you with his costs as we dont sell the replacement parts. That's Steve's gig.

I ahd the chance to try out a 213C a few weeks ago and it has to be the most comfortable brush I've held. Right away it feels like it was made for your hand. with the squared off sides and the smooth trigger action , the Richpen will be my next airbrush without a doubt

Hey mike,
How about a little info on the MOFLO? I am thinking of buying the package deal, but the link for the moflo isn't there, so no info. How long will the special run? Hope to order soon!

Just thought I would add my recomendation. My moflo kicks ass. I love having those common kandies loaded up in the jars and having acess to them in a moments notice.
The brush flo's great, and can achieve a big 1" spray to get coverage fast (just wear your mask :cool2:)
Mike's mods take the brush to un-matched quality, as usual. sweet deal.
